  • Das Konsortium mit dem Titel »SmartDe’s@Work – Smart Devices in der Produktion«, an dem die Bayreuther Projektgruppen Wirtschaftsinformatik des Fraunhofer-Instituts für Angewandte Informationstechnik FIT und Prozessinnovation des Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnik und Automatisierung IPA maßgeblich beteiligt sind, erhält von der Bayerischen Forschungsstiftung den Zuschlag für eine Förderung in Höhe von über 750.000 Euro zur Umsetzung von digitalen Technologien in industriellen Fertigungsprozessen.

Um das Potential zu heben, sind Konzepte und Techniken aus Informatik, Statistik und der Unternehmensführung gefragt. Fraunhofer FIT vermittelt in seiner neu konzipierten Ausbildung zum »Zertifizierten Data Manager in Sciences« die entsprechenden Kompetenzen. Der erste Kurs findet vom 03.-07.   • On November 1 – 2, 2016 the first summit meeting of the Telecom Infra Project will be held in Menlo Park CA at the headquarters of Facebook, who is one of the project's founders. During the meeting, TIP members (which include Deutsche Telekom, Intel and Nokia Networks) will discuss new technologies to build the next generation of telecommunication infrastructure for connecting the unconnected. Fraunhofer FIT is planning to contribute aspects of its »Wireless Backhaul« (WiBACK) technology to TIP as a cost-efficient means to make broadband wireless Internet available in remote parts of the world.

  • At Medica 2016, SYMILA, the Fraunhofer Application Center at Hamm, will demo a telemedicine Internet portal for diabetics, which was implemented on behalf of DITG – Deutsches Institut für Telemedizin und Gesundheitsförderung. The portal, centerpiece of an E-Health intervention system, collects and evaluates the data from telemedicine devices and lets DITG coaches address each patient based on information about her/his current situation. The system satisfies the requirements for a "Medical Data Space (MedDS)" that guarantees a secure exchange of medical data, as specified by the Fraunhofer initiative "Industrial Data Space (IDS)".   • The Flexible Grid Involves its Users

    The GreenCom project, funded in part by the European Commission and led on the technical side by Fraunhofer FIT, ended after 42 months, judged a resounding success. The project's main result is a Smart Energy Monitoring and Control system for load management of regional power grids. A test environment comprising 29 homes on the Danish island Fur integrates heat pumps, photovoltaic systems, batteries and smart-home installations.
