Mixed Reality Applications for City-based Leisure and Experience
The goal of the project is to enhance the existing research cooperation in the field of mobile mixed reality technologies between HIT Lab NZ and Fraunhofer FIT. While Fraunhofer FIT focuses on software architecture (AR / VR Framework Morgan), HIT Lab NZ concentrates on computer vision based tracking techniques and user evaluation. In addition both institutes work on mixed reality user interfaces.
By bringing together the research competencies from within existing projects, researchers from both institutes develop future forms of mobile mixed reality applications. Of particular interest are location-based augmented reality technologies that are capable of enhancing the real world environment.
This project is partly founded by the German Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF).
