Modern software systems with scalable, service-oriented architectures are becoming more and more complex. They consist of a large number of components and libraries. The development of those systems requires a modular and extensible architecture that facilitates re-using components for further software systems. Existing software products still based on monolithic architectures need to be transferred to new scalable software architectures to survive in the market.
