Fraunhofer FIT has developed a kit for rapid development of digital health applications to allow fast responses to urgent needs in the digital health market. The demand of such systems has increased in recent years, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the use of digital health-care services. Connected health information systems can be used in clinical studies, in care provision, aiding in patient risk analysis, prognosis, and decisions about medical care; short-term and long-term planning.
The Fraunhofer Application Center SYMILA presents an app that is intended to replace sheets of paper as the means to document a patient’s pain history. The app was designed in cooperation with pain therapy specialists. It ensures that the medical history data are available digitally for machine learning. To support evaluation and training of the underlying models, SYMILA also developed a service platform that integrates additional data sources and machine-generated models, thus providing maximum benefits for patients and physicians.
